Grade 1 Class Parents needed – Please click the SignUp Genius link to become a Class Parent. It is always a pleasure to have your support.

ES Art Departent – The ES art dept is looking for lots of interesting objects to draw. We would love any of your junk which has an interesting shape, texture or light/dark. Examples: shells, stones, toys, teddies, old/cheap jewellery, dried or plastic flowers/leaves/fruit, old machinery parts, nuts/bolts … (not too much bigger than your hand). We are also seeking materials which could be used for construction/3D junk modelling, such as toilet rolls, bottle caps, plastic food containers (cleaned), small boxes etc.  Please forward to us in Room 3006 (the art room).

With many thanks from the Art department!

Plants – We have begun taking care of our garden and have harvested the vegetables that were grown over the summer.  Our students decided to sell the vegetables and use the proceeds to buy items for our garden. The seeds we have harvested from some of the vegetables will be dried and kept for planting in the spring. All our grade 1 classes have also been into the forest to see how the forest has changed while we were away for the summer.

What should be in my locker?  Indoor/PE shoes, extra clothes (doesn’t have to be a uniform),  raincoat and boots (for wet days and forest walks).

Swimming – All the grade one classes had their first walk through swimming sessions this week. Starting next week, we will swim on our assigned days all year long. Please bring a swimsuit, goggles, towel, swim cap and deck shoes  – all labeled – on your child’s swim day or simply leave the items in your child’s locker to ensure s/he has it on the day.

Swimming days:

1DE – Day 3

1AO – Day 4

1CR – Day 5

1HM – Day 6
